Evans to Replace Romero in W1 Fight with Johnson
Top MMA News‘ Derek Leblanc has learned that William Romero has been forced to pull out of the W1 event in Halifax. In talking with his scheduled opponent, Tristan Johnson, it was learned that Romero suffered an injury and will be unable to compete on October 23rd. The Johsnon/Romero bout has been scheduled a number of times with several promotions, but never seems to happen due to several reasons including injury and sanctioning issues.
In Romero’s place, W1 will bring in Douglas Evans to face Tristan Johnson. Evans is a more than capable replacement having fought in the UFC and compiling a 10-7 record. Evans most recently lost to Ronnie Mann at a Strikeforce event and will look to get back on the winning track against Johnson.
