TUF 12 – GSP vs Kos – Episode 4 Recap

Show starts with a recap of the Michael Johnson fight where Johnson won the fight against Wilkinson in the “Special Victory Round.”

Next, Mike Tyson talks to GSP’s team. GSP says he learned as much from Mike Tyson as his team did. Nice side of Iron Mike is shown.

Koscheck steals from Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption and says ” It’s time to get busy living or get busy dying.” He wants his team to win the next fight desperately.

Team Koscheck seems to be the poor cousins of this year’s TUF. Notice how every GSP guy has a red The Ultimate Fighter team outfit while Koscheck’s team look like a rag tag team with no uniforms yet? Nam Phan mentioned in a Sherdog interview that their uniforms arrived late.

Bruce Leroy does have a big mouth that he is constantly shooting it off. Sevak Magakian finally gets enraged and takes exception and is about to …. COMMERCIAL.

And we’re back…Nam Phan holds him back and the drama is over. Sevak swears that Bruce Leroy will be his next fight and he will slam him down.

GSP arrives to the gym and parks his car in a spot where Koscheck cannot park him in. Koscheck calls GSP “a nerd” and says St-Pierre talks like a “robot.” GSP picks the next fight. Kyle Watson vs Andrew Main. Watson is on Team TUF and is Matt Hughe’s BJJ coach. Once again, Josh Koscheck thinks its a good matchup and says that Main can submit Watson. Watson says that he thinks he will get top position and that Main cannot sub him.

Next practice Koscheck shows up in his Speedos. Koscheck says that Georges wears them to impress all “the guys in the stands.” St-Pierre does not respond.

Main is soaking up the training and is really looking to improve his striking. He also wants the top position and says he will pass Watson’s guard and look for a finish.

Koscheck gives his team another pep talk where he says he hates “losing to a French guy.”

A key attribute of a martial artist is self control. Obviously Kos hasn’t got that far in his evolution yet, and he doesn’t understand why GSP doesn’t let him get under his skin….

  2. CR says:

Kos is the classic dumb jock from high school. It’s almost embarassing to watch him try and ham it up for the cameras when he’s in the gym with Georges….

“He talks like a robot, heh, heh, heh, like a robot, heh, heh, heh”

It’s obvious how much more intelligent and professional GSP is. He brings in quality guys to help train/motivate his fighters.

I could listen to John Danaher all day. He talks that stuff without coming off like a total hippie flake. He should really shave his head though…
