The fights were very entertaining indeed!!! The sound system and a few other things definitely need to be improved on, but a big congrats to Tim Hague on taking care of his responsibilities!!
Great write up Cody, but I disagree on the scoring in the main event. I gave rounds 2,3 and 5 to Godall. The only round in question is the second as I feel rounds 1,3,4 and 5 were very easy to score.

Round 2 was a close one but I feel Briere stole it in the last few minutes of the round… it really could have gone either way!

  7. I don’t understand how the commission allowed this to be a title fight when both guys were over the allowable 170 limit for a title fight.

The same commission denied a boxing title fight due to 1 of the fighters being .4 pounds over.

    Where is the consistency.

  8. Cody Rempel says:

I’m pretty sure you’re still allowed the one pound over, even for title fights!

What happened to the guy Houle was supposed to fight?

  12. No 1 pound for Title fights, but they could have re-done the contract after the weigh-in and changed it to a “catch weight”, kinda screws with the integrity of the belt though and should have just been made a 3 rounder.

Also, and no insult intended, it’s just a Promotional belt, not like in boxing.

  13. JayKay says:

MacDonald gives up his back and Curtis fires away, opening up a cut over the left eye. After being warned for a hit to the back of the head Curtis lands a few more shot before referee Vern Gorman has seen enough.

Can we hear more about this? Vern warns about shot and then lets the fight continue from that position. I’m not calling foul but it seems odd without having seen it.

  14. Cody Rempel says:

    JayKay,
Gorman stated that it was one single borderline shot to the back of the head mixed in with a bunch of legal strikes. He also stated he was very close to stopping in before the strike to the back of the head!

It’s chase who lands 6 hit combo not John grant
