Undefeated Wright Returning to the Cage
After taking a year off from fighting to be with his new child, fans can expect Gary Wright to return to the cage this fall. Sources tell Top MMA News that Wright and manager/trainer David Lea have agreed to fight at Armageddon Fighting Championship 4 on November 6th in Victoria. Wright is an undefeated 8-0 and trains under Lea at Team Toshido – the home of UFC Welterweight Rory MacDonald.
For those who do not remember Wright, nicknamed “Evil Ginger”, he was ranked the #7 Welterweight in Canada in early 2009. He then decided to take some time off from competing in the sport after beating Elmer Waterhen in February 2009. Wright is 8-0 and has wins over the TJ Grant and Myles Merola among many others. Top MMA News is told that Wright will be fighting in the Lightweight division when he returns to action.
This is another great signing by the AFC who already have Nick Hinchliffe vs Mike Hackert and Graham Spencer vs Shawn Albrecht signed for AFC 4. There is no word of an opponent at this early date, but you can expect Top MMA News to bring you that news when it happens.

looks like he sold out king of the cage big time
What the heck, I thought he was taking a break from fighting, that’s why he vacated the belt. I guess not.
Yeah… that’s the word I got from Ken, Gary said it would be “a while” before he was gonna fight again so he vacated the title!
Either way I’m looking forward to seeing him fight again!
Can you really blame him with the state that KOTC is in? It also appears that AFC is really on their way up. Good luck to Gary in his fight.
Its been a year and a half since he fought last. Most would consider that a pretty decent break.
Gary Wright vs Tarek Gabali?
Gary Wright is sick. Great to see him back in the sport!
Opponent is Brad “Kama” Causey 8-1
Wow!
Causey vs. Wright should be a real treat for most Island MMA fans who’ve likely never seen either in live action.
Good point, though, Jamie:
Just where the heck is Tarek Gabali these days? I mean, it must be pretty tough to find opponents for him, but still…
Wright is off the card, schedule doesn’t work.
Confirmed, unfortunatly there is a scheduling conflict and Wright is no longer available Nov.6, Causey will remain on the card with opponent to be named. We are hoping to have Gary make his return on AFC 5.
That sucks, D.O. However, looks like an opponent opened up for Tarek Gabali.
