Andrew Buckland landed an uppercut on Ryan McGillivray after the bell in their Lets Get It On first round Welterweight tournament fight. That blow cost Buckland a win as he was deducted a point and the fight eventually was scored a Majority Draw. A rematch was warranted. Three promotions later, that bout will finally happen this weekend.

Not only was the rematch warranted, but it was necessary to have a winner for this bout as one of the two fighters had to advance to the next round of the tournament. LGIO promised that the two would rematch prior to the start of the second round.  Unfortunately, LGIO met its demise and the rematch did as well.

Then The Fight Club scooped up this marketable match for the Edmonton area.  Both fighters agreed to face each other at TFC 11. Last week, TFC announced the postponement of this card for the second time and once again there was a match looking for a home.

Less than two days ago, a frustrated McGillivray stated that he was “trying desperately to find a fight” after the rematch fell through.  Well Aggression came to the rescue and signed up the two for their July 9th card.  Harvey Panesar from Aggression told Top MMA News that they signed the pair up last night.
