TFC Press Release – TFC Not Finished! Not For Sale!

By:

The following is a press release from The Fight Club Representative Melanie Lubovac.

It took a lot of time and consideration for the decision we have made. Due to some scheduling issues and restructuring of the expansion of the company TFC has decided to postpone the July 17 show. We are making some positive changes and are scheduled to return full force on September 10.

Our decision to postpone has nothing to do with the lack of ticket sales (as stated on some websites) sales have been very successful, our decision was 100% due to internal improvement to benefit our fans, fighters and sponsors. TFC is proud to have the largest fan base in Edmonton, the best fighters in Canada, and foremost the finest facility west of Quebec.

There is no reason for The Fight Club to close the doors or place the organization up for sale.

How can they say ticket sales are great and eveything else and then go cancel the show. It’s not true, pay the fighters that got ready for this event. They won’t it’s done.

All that is straight bullshit, it’s just their way of not paying the fighters.

    Roster- way below average
    Fan base- below average
    Facility-good
    Show-Broke

  10. So much for promoters looking out for the best interest of the fighters.

How about compensating all the fighters for their hard work in prepping for this card? If there is no financial issues, then they should be able to compensate the fighters.

Restructure AFTER this card. If there are no real financial issues, then this card would go ahead.

ALSO = love how the press release has NO APOLOGIES to all the fighters who have been training their asses off for this card.

I agree, pay the fighters, say sorry to the fans and then quietly go out of business.

  12. TFC 11 has been POSTPONED not cancelled, all fighter contracts will be honored if they are willing and available to fight in September.

I understand the frustration of the fighters, it is a very unfortunate situation. It is a business however, we have had many fighters pull off shows for injuries and other issues, shit happens, we don’t get compensated nor do fighters offer to fight for less next time. Those professionals in the sport know that it is all part of the game.

  13. Why put a card together and advertise it and have fighters prep for a fight, etc, if there were issues within the business, even just minor ones?

Surely this just didn’t happen overnight.

  14. Frank Gibbs says:

    Shara,
Very good point and why cancel if ticket sales were doing so great? This is what happens when low level shows like TFC try to get big to fast.

I think it’s funny when Pavelich creates an alias like FRANK GIBBS then goes crazy posting about how good MFC is and how bad everyone else is.

  16. Don’t get me wrong, I like The Fight Club. I like their events, I like how my fighters have been treated in the past. I just don’t think that if a business has ANY issues they should go ahead and promote further business before resolving current issues. Especially with so many people involved……FIGHTERS, trainers, sponsors, fans…..
