Great Canadian Fights This Weekend!

By:

There is a ton of MMA action this weekend – internationally and nationally – with Bellator, UFC, Ringside, W1, and WEC all holding cards.

The WEC is being held in Edmonton and can be watched nationally on The Score.  The fights with Canadian implications are a great bout between top ranked Featherweights Mark Hominick and Yves Jabouin.  Canadian Chris Horodecki is also on the card.

The UFC is holding the TUF Finale.  Canada’s Mark Holst will make his first appearance with the UFC and will take on John Gunderson.  Let’s hope that Boots finishes things off early, so he gets a nice bonus and, more importantly, his preliminary fight gets played on the SportsNet telecast.

Big things are happening in Quebec with two big cards.   On Friday, Ringside is holding a nice card loaded with Quebec fighters.  In the main event, Canada’s #3 Lightweight Guillaume De Lorenzi is defending his title against Dale Hartt.  Top MMA News expects big things from De Lorenzi and a win over a former UFCer may lead De Lorenzi to bigger and better promotions.  Top MMA News will be bringing results and pictures live from the event.  Those of us who cannot attend will be ordering the PPV at GoFightLive.  You should too!  Others on the card include the undefeated Tom Murphy, Sean Salmon, Derek Gauthier, and the very exciting Alex Garcia.

The other Montreal card is W1. W1 has some nice-looking fights as well with a main event of Denis Kang vs Dae Won Kim.  W1 also features a lot of talent with Antonio Carvalho and Ivan Menjivar continuing and starting their comebacks, respectively.  Adrian Wooley,  Steve Bossé, Jorge Britto, Thierry Quenneville, and Ryan Machan will also fight on the card.  Top MMA News will also be reporting live from this event on Saturday.

As for the main Canadian fight on each card, which do you prefer?

What fight are you most looking forward to this weekend?
