Top MMA News UFC 115 Breakdown
UFC is coming to Vancouver for the first time on June 12. Fans gobbled up tickets in record time and now its fight week. Here is Top MMA News breakdown of the card.
Chuck Liddell (+105) vs Rich Franklin (-147)
Chuck is 1-4 in his last five fights while Franklin is 1-2 in his last three fights. Chuck Liddell is coming off a stint as an Ultimate Fighter 11 coach, looks to be in great shape and could be a solid underdog bet. Against the southpaw in Franklin, he will be still trying to land that big right hook. Franklin was a late replacement for Tito Ortiz on TUF 11. Franklin will come out and fight the smarter game and will try to pick Liddell apart throughout the three rounds.
Grienk – Franklin in a Decision
MAD – Liddell by KO
Pat Barry (-164) vs Mirko CroCop (+120)
A kickboxing match in the cage! How mad would the UFC be if Barry took CroCop down and ground and pounded him? Don’t expect that, but expect the younger, faster, and quickly becoming a fan favourite Pat Barry TKO Mirko CroCop by the second round. Watch out for CroCop though. He is finding ways to win. Many fans think he is washed up but he has only lost once in his last six fights. Neither of the two have been able to beat top UFC competition yet but watch out for fireworks in this fight. Don’t blink!
Grienk – Barry TKO Round 2
MAD – Barry KO Round 1
Carlos Condit (+110) vs Rory MacDonald (-152)
This is a great bout between British Columbia’s undefeated sensation Rory MacDonald and former WEC champion Carlos Condit. Condit is a great fighter with a 24-5 record and could be a decent play as the underdog in this bout. As for MacDonald, everyone knows his story of starting his career at 16 and finishing every opponent he has faced. His incredible record may come to an end in front of his home crowd. Will he be nervous fighting in front of friends and family? Will he be able to go into deep rounds with a top fighter such as Condit? These are questions that could be answered at UFC 115. What does Top MMA News think? RMac all the way!
Grienk – Rory MacDonald by Split Decision
MAD – Rory MacDonald by Unanimous Decision in the Fight of the Night
Ben Rothwell (-164) vs Gilbert Yvel (+120)
After winning 13 in a row, Ben Rothwell came up on the short end in fights with Andrei Arlovski at Affliction and Cain Velasquez in the UFC. Similarily, Gilbert Yvel won eight in a row, before running into Josh Barnett in Affliction and Junior dos Santos in the UFC. Now the two Heavyweights will battle each other in Vancouver. Both are in desparate need of a win and the loser will probably be released by the UFC. Expect Rothwell’s super chin to take anything Yvel can land and he will put Yvel to sleep quickly. Don’t blink on this one.
Grienk – Rothwell by KO in Round 1
MAD – Rothwell by TKO Ground n Pound in Round 1
Paulo Thiago (-250) vs Martin Kampmann (+175)
Thiago has surprisingly climbed to the upper echelon of the UFC Welterweights. Kampmann was near the top until Paul Daley knocked him off. Thiago has suprised fans with his continuing to win despite facing tough opposition. Expect more of the same from Thiago at UFC 115.
Grienk – Thiago takes down Kampmann and submits him in Round 2
MAD – Thiago by TKO in Round 2
David Loiseau (+162) vs Mario Miranda (-227)
Like Joe Doerksen at UFC 113, Loiseau will be the most experienced Canadian at UFC 115. Like Joe Doerksen at UFC 113, Loiseau will come into Vancouver and get the upset victory to stay in the UFC. Expect Loiseau to get Miranda down to the mat and control him positionally throughout the match. Lets hope that The Crow can finish him with some Ground n Pound, but expect a decision victory.
Grienk and MAD – Crow by Decision
Claude Patrick(-357) vs Ricardo Funch(+225)
Canada’s Patrick is a heavy favorite and deservedly so. Patrick is undefeated since 2002 and after several requests to join the UFC, he has finally accepted. Patrick has drawn Ricardo Funch for his UFC debut. Funch is coming off a loss to Jonny Hendricks in his first UFC fight and will be looking to avoid losing two in a row and getting his pink slip. Watch out for Patrick’s Guillotine. He is well rounded – but that Guillotine is his bread and butter.
Grienk and MAD – Patrick by Submission in Round 2 (Grienk) or Round 3 (MAD)

Alot of people are not impressed with this card. I actual;ly find it’s pretty explosive, and should be very entertaining.
I know alot of fans in Vancouver were hoping for a title card, but as I found out attending UFC 114 in Vegas, fans also want to see big KO’s and not much else. If KO’s are what the fans want, than this is the card for them.
My Picks:
Franklin by KO in round 2
Pat Barry by KO in round 1
Rory Mac by submission round 2
Rothwell by TKO round 1
Thiago by split decision
Crow by TKO round 1
Patrick by Sub round 2
My Picks,
Liddell KO R2
Cro Cop R3
Kampmann KO
Rothwell KO
Danzig – split

I’m suprised to see people not interested in this fight card!
To me it seems absoultely stacked in the quality of fights there will be! The match ups are very very well made matchups. I can understad though that this card appeals more to avid fans than the casual fans despite cro cop Franklin and liddell
I’m gonna pick ( without methods)
Franklin
Barry
thaigo
rothwell
macdonald
Frankling by TKO rd3
BARRY by KO rd1
Rory Macdonald sub rd3
Rothwell TKO rd2
Paulo Thiago dec
Miranda dec
I refuse to believe Franklin and Liddell will go to dec like a lot of people say. Liddell is too aggressive and I think Franklin will take advantage. There is always the chance that Liddell stopsFranklin anytime.
Barry will destroyCro Cop Don’t blink!!! lol
What a terrible fucking card. They either need to cut down on the number of PPVs or start seriously looking for up and comers and develop them. Not only would I not pay for this, I wouldn’t waste my time watching it.
Franklin by TKO 2nd
Cro Cop by TKO (takedown and gnp) 1st
Rory Mac by SUB 3rd
Rothwell by TKO 1st
Thiago by TKO 2nd
Miranda by UD
Patrick by SUB 2nd
