Briere Out of Unified 4, Krahn vs Cardinal New Main Event

Travis Briere has been forced to withdraw from his Welterweight title fight against George Belanger at Unified MMA 4. Briere suffered an undisclosed injury in training and was forced to pull out with less than a week to go. After failing to find a suitable replacement to fight Belanger, the fight was scrapped altogether.

With the cancellation of the title fight, Cody “Genghis” Krahn (7-2) has stepped into the main event slot on three days notice. Despite Krahn’s plans to make Middleweight his permanent weight class, Krahn will jump up another weight class and take on Heavyweight Jonathan Cardinal (1-1). Krahn rattled off his fourth straight win in a Light-Heavyweight bout over Trent Thorne at King Of The Cage Combustion this past Friday, submitting him via Kimura in just over a minute and came out unscathed.
