Aggression Matchmaker Discusses Vernon Card

Aggression MMA will be holding their first event ever outside of Alberta with an expansion event in Vernon, BC on May 21st. The fight card is filled with 14 solid looking fights and should prove to be an exciting night for BC fight fans!

Top MMA News had a chance to talk to Dan Shenk, MMA fighter and match-maker for the Vernon Aggression show.   Sadly, Dan had to drop his fight against Nolan Clark due to injury but is still excited to be involved with the promotion.

“I’m really happy to be working with Aggression.  They strive to treat their fighters really well and I respect that a lot. This will be the promotion’s first event outside of Alberta and they have a fantastic team working to make it a great show. Aggression is really happy to be expanding into the BC market. There are a lot of awesome fans here and they deserve to see great fights and that’s what I plan to give them at this event.”

With 14 fights on the card, one would expect to see at least one amateur fight, mis-match or flop fight, but by the looks of this card, they are all quality fights with some seasoned vets and up and coming stars. Aggression is also handing out “Fight, Submission and KO of the Night” bonuses which will also provide some more incentive for these warriors to give it their all in the cage.

“These fights are all great fights. I did my absolute best to ensure there are no lopsided fights or mis-matches. Of course, there were several changes to the card in the process, but this happens with all promotions – injuries happen and schedules conflict.  There isn’t much you can do about these things but battle through and do you best to establish a solid card that will entertain the fans.”

“I am not even sure I can predict which fight will be the best fight of the night.  With so many quality fights, I’m stoked to see them all. Russel Davis vs Upneet Rai will be an explosive fight between two quick 145ers. I was supposed to fight Nolan Clark at 185, but due to an injury, I had to replace myself with David Perron. Clark is coming off a nice KO win at the LGIO tournament and Perron is 2-0 with his last win also being a quick TKO this should be a great fight to watch. Clay Davidson vs Devon Neis is a big fight with two BIG guys. Davidson is coming off of four straight wins with his last two over Matt Baker and Neis is looking to get back on a winning streak after losing to Jason Cecil. Of course Hinchliffe vs Brown will be huge; either of these two guys could be picked up by the big show at any time, so it’s a guaranteed good show. Adams vs Spencer will be unbelievable! These guys are both super tough and both bangers, I expect to see a huge KO in this war.”

AMMA Trilogy will also feature a female fight on the card between Impact MMA’s Rachael Swatze and Lori Ann Hilland from Prince George. This should also be a great fight and the first ever female MMA fight held in Vernon.   Kenny “KenFlo” Florian will also be in attendance hosting the VIP section for fight night as well as holding a seminar the day following the fights. The seminar will be held at “World Gym” in Kelowna, BC.
