WEC 48 Quick Results


The World Extreme Cagefighting held its first pay per view tonight.  In the first of two title matches, Benson Henderson retained his Lightweight title with a submission victory over Cowboy Cerrone.  Urijah Faber lost his challenge for the Featherweight belt when Jose Aldo won every round in his title defense.

In other action, Manny Gamburyan knocked out former champion Mike Brown in impressive fashion and Leonard Garcia and Chan Sung Jung fought an amazing three rounds.

    I wasn’t impressed with the descision on the Garcia vs Jung fight, I would have scored it much differently. the fight was enetertaining though and both guys gave it their all the whole fight. This card was probably the best PPV I have seen in a long time.

  3. When it comes to decisions, Garcia is the luckiest fighter out there. I think he should have lost his last five fights but he somehow got the Split Decision against Massouh, the Draw against Roop, and the Split Decision against Jung. I thought he lost all three.

    I think the judges love his aggressive style with windmill punches. Makes for entertaining fights though!
