Doerksen to Headline CFC 5 on June 4

The Canadian Fighting Championship president Giuseppe DeNatale announced today that Joe Doerksen will be headlining CFC 5.  Doerksen, ranked third on Top MMA News’ Canadian Middleweight rankings, is undefeated in his last four fights including two in Japan’s Sengoku organization.  The promotion also announced June 4 as the date of the next show.  No opponent has been named at this time.

Winnipeg fans have last seen Joe Doerksen live at CFC 2.  There Doerksen faced France’s Greg Babene in a very exciting main event.  Babene gave Doerksen a rough ride in the first round before Doerksen dropped Babene in the second and then submitted him.

This is the second fight that Doerksen has scheduled over the next four months.  El Dirte is also set to face Chad Herrick at the King of the Cage in Michigan on April 16.  The KOTC card will be shown live on HD Net.  Jeremy Horn will face Jake Rosholt in the KOTC main event.  Ray Mercer will be taking on Ron Sparks as well.

Always good to see Joe fight. In his hometown with the passionate CFC fans is even better. Looking forward to this event. Good luck to El Dirte in April as well.

Who is he fighting. I’d like to see Doerksen vs. Horwich or Starnes. Hopefully they can find somebody decent worth going to watch.
