Exclusive: Jason MacDonald Replaces Kang in Main Event
Top MMA News has been able to confirm that Denis Kang has been forced to withdraw from his March 20th bout in Montreal for W-1: Bad Blood. Denis had to pull out of the fight due to an injury sustained during training which is believed to be a herniated disk.
W-1 continues to impress by saving the main event by signing Jason ‘The Athlete’ MacDonald to face Vernon White at the Pierre Charbonneau Centre in Montreal. MacDonald is coming off a split decision victory over Solomon Hutcherson at MFC 23. This will be Jason’s first fight outside the borders of the UFC or the MFC in almost four years. Kang’s injury forces him to the sidelines along with Carlos Newton who was originally tapped to face Chris Clements before he sustained an injury himself during training. Newton was replaced by John Alessio in the semi main event.
Keep it tuned to Top MMA News as we keep you up to speed regarding the W-1 card.

Newton and Kang out but at least they found decent replacements in Alessio and MacDonald! Should be a great card!
Going to be a great show and it says a lot about an organization when you can replace great fighters with great fighters on short notice – I think decent replacements is a bit of an understatement. :) Cheers.
good replacement, is Jason and MFC done?
If W-1 can keep their fighters happy, they will dominate Canada. Names will continue to follow names.
This is exactly what Canada needs.
I’m impressed with W-1. It shows they are a serious player in the mma world.Nice to see Jason MacDonald is on the card. Should be an exciting fight.
I’m loving W1. Anyone know when the next card is after March 20th? Great fighters keep signing. I hope Macdonald stays for multiple fights.
I just heard that W-1′s next event will be in Montreal in June. MacDonald, Kang, Newton, and more. I wonder who the next great fighter that they sign will be? Not to mention their new deal with Fox in the USA. I think i’m becoming their biggest fan. Can you make money by starting a fanclub?
