Maybe it’s just me – but why wouldn’t they do more of a UFC or WWE type of concept and have the non-title fights on network TV, and then the title fights as a PPV? I dunno – maybe I’m behind the times or something, but I have a feeling that Fedor is going to be gone from Strikeforce soon. I’m losing more and more respect for the guy every week.

The reason that they do mot due PPV is because they are not big enough yet to challenge the UFC franchise. They need the publicity now so that maybe in the future they can transition into PPV. But to do it now would be suicidal to their franchise.

That’s why I mentioned WWE style – run a few months of fights every 2nd weekend, smaller venues, non title, and on the second night, top contenders are picked to fight for the title 30 – 60 days later – pending medical clearance. There would be 2 – 4 more “free” events that they would make advertising revenue from, and then the PPV event. Makes sense to me – but then again, I’m not an MMA promoter… But I haven’t declared bankruptcy, either.
