MFC 24 Press Conference Notes and Gallery
“Everyone wants respect,” says MFC president Mark Pavelich. After a couple cards that have featured fights that have turned into several tactical grappling bouts, the MFC has “gone out and signed people who want to fight and respect (the MFC) organization,” stated Pavelich at the MFC 24 Press Conference.
Judging by the comments from the guys that were on display at the press conference, there should be some great fights.
Yves Edwards and Derrick Noble are both very good Lightweights who will put on a good show. MFC Director of Marketing Scott Zerr suggests MFC Lightweight title implications but both fighters say they are not looking past this fight.
Dwayne Lewis and Ryan McClain both found out they were fighting each other three days ago. Its a classic striker versus grappler contest. One wonders if Lewis will be able to keep up his knockout record fighting McClain who finishes 90% of his wins with submissions.
Travis Galbraith and Tom Watson is a very intriguing fight. Galbraith says he has committed to fighting for the past year and a half while Watson has come over from England to train full time with TriStar in Montreal. Watson promised a “Fight of the Night” performance.
MFC was unable to find a suitable opponent for Nick Penner.
