Price, Goncalves off MFC 24 – Lofton, Juarez Added

On February 26, Chris Price was due to face Manitoba’s Nick Penner at MFC 24.  Now, due to Price’s passport problems, Penner is now expected to face Aron Lofton in his Light-Heavyweight fight.

Lofton is a an 8-3 fighter who is a natural Light-Heavyweight unlike Price who was moving up from Middleweight to fight Penner. Lofton has had his ups and downs in his six MFC fights.  Among his three victories includes a KO over current MFC favorite Dwayne Lewis.  Lofton also has three losses in the MFC including a November 2009 Arm Bar loss to Roger Hollett.

Jesse Juarez steps in for Thiago Goncalves.  Goncalves is out with injury so Juarez will step in on short notice against Nathan Gunn.  Juarez is coming into the bout undefeated in 2009 with six consecutive victories.  Juarez last stops include two wins in Bellator and a MFC victory over Joe “Jitsu” Christopher at MFC 23.  This is another tough test for Nathan Gunn who dropped his last MFC bout to Pete Spratt.

You have to respect Gunn for stepping up to such threatening opponents. Should be good
