Belfort Withdraws From Middleweight Title Fight

Vitor Belfort is back in the UFC.

Dana White has confirmed to that Vitor Belfort has withdrawn from the Middleweight title fight at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi.  Belfort has sustained a shoulder injury and will be unable to fight Anderson Silva.

Recently-declared number one contender Chael Sonnen may not be available unless he agrees to a short training camp.  He received a large cut compliments of a Nate Marquardt elbow and is suspended for 30 days by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

UFC 112 will still feature a Lightweight title bout between BJ Benn and challenger Frankie Edgar.  Matt Hughes will face Renzo Gracie on the card as well.

that weasel dana is most likely forcing vitor out of the fight so he can allow couture to fight silva before he gets too old. he wants couture to fight silva to bring in more money since couture is.more well known than belfort and since silva is afraid of vitor even more so now that sonnen has exposed silva as the much weaker fighter in comparison to vitor. silva didnt want to fight belfort from the start and he still doesnt.

Sam, so you are saying that the fighters in Strike Force don’t get injured? Or that they force them to fight even if they are. Cause that’s the only way I can see them “not pulling this kind of crap”
As for the Silva haters, he is hands down then best P4P in the UFC and possibly the world. There’s no way Belfort would have beat him, I guess we’ll see who the sacrificial lamb will be to fight him now.
