Rory MacDonald vs. Carlos Condit in the Works for UFC 115
Top MMA News recently announced that Rory MacDonald will be fighting on the UFC 115 card and evidently the undefeated Canadian welterweight phenom is looking to make a statement within the division. MMAMania.com first reported that MacDonald will square off against former WEC welterweight champion, Carlos Condit on the June card. Although several news sources have been able to confirm a verbal agreement to the match up, Rory MacDonald would not comment at this time.
After an impressive 5-0 run in the WEC, Condit lost a tough fought split decision to Martin Kampmann for his UFC debut. “The Natural Born Killer” redeemed himself with a split decision win of his own over Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 19. The New Mexico native was slated to face tough British striker Paul Daley at UFC 108 but was forced to withdraw due to a hand laceration.
Rory is coming off an impressive debut submission win over Mike Guymon at UFC Fight Night 20. The twenty year old Team Toshido pupil is widely considered one of the top welterweight prospects within the UFC. MacDonald did not hide the fact that he wanted to fight in front of his hometown crowd and although not officially announced, UFC 115 is expected to take place at the General Motors Place in Vancouver on June 15. Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III is rumored to be the main event for the evening.
