Top MMA News has received the following press release outlining the details of an agreement signed between the Score television network and WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting). There will be 7 live events in 2010 on the Score starting with January 10th when WEC 46 takes place with Jamie Varner and Ben Henderson unifying the WEC Lightweight title, more online content and exclusives.
The Score has been stepping it up with the addition of the weekly “MMA Show” and Friday Night Fights with Mauro Ranallo at the helm. There has been some great fights with the last Bellator season being broadcast, as well as Hardcore Fighting events from the past, and more recently the W1 event with Carlos Newton against Shonie Carter. Rumors of more Canadian promotions joining the mix are also running rampant.
2010 is going to be a good year for Canadian MMA fans as more options and more live fights become an option. It was dissapointing to see TSN have the rights to WEC and not show the events live. The fans deserve this and thank the Score for providing us more great MMA content.
