Tommy Speer Pulls Out of TFC Title Fight
Last week, Top MMA News informed fans that The Ultimate Fighter 6 finalist Tommy Speer was going to fight Ryan Ford. The fight, scheduled to be a five round fight, was to be for the TFC World Welterweight title.
Well, no sooner had the ink dried when Speers pulled out of the fight. According to TFC officials, Speers felt that he did not have time to prepare for an opponent of Ford’s quality.
This marks the second opponent that has pulled out of the TFC fight. JJ Ambrose was originally scheduled to face Ford before he pulled.
Top MMA News asked why current TFC Welterweight champion Claude Patrick has not been asked to unify his title with Ford’s Interim title. The response was that Patrick, who just fought on CFC 3, is not available for the December show. TFC officials are targeting a March event for a TFC Welterweight title unification on the TFC 10 card.
Look for an announcement on Ford’s opponent to be made in the next day.
