Shinya Aoki is the new DREAM Lightweight champion

DREAM 11 finished this morning and Revolution Fight Team’s Bibiano Fernandez won the DREAM Featherweight Grand Prix by a very close split decision over Hiroyuki Takaya.   It was a tremendous back and forth fight by both contenders.

In Lightweight action, Shinya Aoki submitted Joachim Hansen very late in the second round to take Hansen’s Lightweight belt.  Hansen was coming off a 14 month layoff from fighting and one wonders what effect this had on the former champion.
