Guillaume DeLorenzi vs. Lindsey Hawkes set for Ringside 3 – Sept 19th
Guillaume ‘Il Toro’ DeLorenzi vs. Lindsey “Over the Top” Hawkes has been signed to take place at Ringside 3 on September 19th.
DeLorenzi will be making his Lightweight debut against the tough up and comer Hawkes. Hawkes, a native Winnipeger, was originally scheduled to fight rising superstar Mike Ricci, who had to pull out of his scheduled match due to injury. DeLorenzi has a 5-1 record and last fought on the last XMMA card losing to ex-UFC fighter War Machine. Hawkes holds wins over the tough Rory McDonnell and the previously unbeaten Clint Martin.
Hawkes has been looking forward to a marquee matchup with the likes of a Mike Ricci, Guillaume DeLorenzi, John Makdessi, or Martin Grandmont. For one reason or another, tentatively scheduled matches with several of the above have been cancelled or postponed. However, this only rasies the anticipation for the DeLorenzi/Hawkes matchup as any combination of the above fighters is sure to create fireworks.
155 has to be one of the deepest divisions in the country with fighters like Kajun Johnson, Steve Claveau, Mark Holst, Jason Tatlow, Chris Horodecki, and it’s just a matter of time until Canada rules the division on a larger scale in the bigger organizations as these fighters all continue to improve.
The DeLorenzi/Hawkes tilt is a great addition to a card that already features Steve Bosse and Craig Brown in the Main Event.
i figure someone needs to comment on this… so
