Lucas St. Claire Took Home the MAX Fights Welterweight Title

MAX Fights 6 was held on August 29 at the Urban Plains Center in Fargo, North Dakota.  The card, held early to accommodate the local Chris Tuchscherer UFC 102 fans, treated fans to 10 exciting fights.   In the main event, Grand Forks’ Lucas St. Claire caught Tat Romero with a Rear Naked Choke late in the first round.  For his victory, St. Claire took home the MAX Fights’ Welterweight title.

Just like Marquardt/Maia at UFC 102, sometimes a well matched fight looks good on paper, but ends real quickly.  St. Paul, Minnesota’s Mitchell Jackson was an undefeated 9-0 while the Academy of Combat Arts’ Pablo Garza had a perfect 4-0 record.  This Featherweight matchup whet everyone’s appetite but it ended quickly with Garza winning by Triangle Choke in under a minute.

In the strange category, Chris Henthorn was a two time loser.  Losing his pro debut in the night’s opening bout to Allan Kirkeby.  He then lost backstage as he was detained by authorities who had a warrant for his arrest for being a “noncompliant predator offender.”  According to the North Dakota State Athletic Commission’s Chad Kurle, Henthorn was “arrested following his fight, post fight physical, and receipt of payment.”

  7. @lilpitbull, Judging by your terrible grammar and spelling you should be contemplating getting a G.E.D before contemplating getting a U.F.C…and if you do not know what G.E.D stands for then you probably need it. you say Lucas St. Claire is your cousin, you sure you are not also related to bobby k?
