CFC Announces Third Show – Christison, Munduruca Appearing

With the first two Canadian Fighting Championship events successfully run and then broadcast on national TV, Giuseppe DeNatale can breathe easier. “Not a chance,” laughs the President of the CFC. In fact, his fight promotion has been working through the summer and is now ready to start promoting their third installment of the Canadian Fighting Championship.

CFC 3 will be held on November 13th at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. “We have had two great shows and fans are saying that CFC 2 had some of the most exciting MMA fights that they have seen. We will top that for CFC 3!” says the former K1 Kickboxing champion. Last show, the CFC brought in hometown favorite Joe Doerksen. El Dirte had the crowd holding its breath then going wild on its feet by submitting his opponent after clearly losing the first round. How can DeNatale top that?

“We are bringing in the Heavyweights for CFC 3! The Canadian Fighting Championship has signed two of the top Heavyweights outside the UFC for our November 13 show,” crows the Godfather. “Although their opponents cannot be named at this time due to commission regulations, I can announce that Dan Christison and Rodrigo Munduruca have inked contracts for CFC 3.”

Dan Christison was a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter and has a 1-1 record in the UFC cage – beating TUF 2 finalist Brad Imes and losing a close decision to two time UFC champion Frank Mir. Christison has only lost once in 9 fights since mid-2007. Rodrigo Munduruca is the undisputed Canadian Heavyweight BJJ champion who has represented his country around the world in grappling events. Rodrigo, who hails from Winnipeg, has an unblemished 6-0 MMA record.

CFC Matchmaker Marc-Andre Drolet promises to top his sophomore matchmaking effort. “The CFC 3 card will rival anything else in Canada. It will feature the best current Canadian fighters, like the undefeated Heavyweight Rodrigo Munduruca, as well as our country’s future superstars.”

Tickets for the November 13th CFC card can be purchased at Ticketmaster.
