Two More Affliction Fighters Sign Elsewhere

Jay Hieron and Paul Daley were scheduled to face each other at Affliction III.   Now the two fighters will be heading to different organizations in the wake of Affliction’s collapse.

Hieron will head to Strikeforce where he has immediately been slotted into the August 15th card.  He will face Nick Diaz for the Strikeforce Welterweight title.   He replaces Joe Riggs who was forced to withdraw after a bad reaction to undisclosed medication.

Paul Daley is UFC bound.  Fighters Only claims that Daley signed a multi-fight deal with MMA’s top promotion.  With the UFC’s expansion into the UK and the rest of Europe, Daley is a great fit.  Canadian fans have recently seen Daley in the Maximum Fighting Championship where he defeated John Alessio and lost to Nick Thompson.
