Fedor/Barnett Affliction Fight in Doubt

josh_barnett THUMBSherdog.com is reporting that the Fedor Emelianenko vs Josh Barnett Heavyweight fight at Affliction III is in doubt.  The report alleges that Josh Barnett took a pre-fight drug test three weeks ago and tested positive for an undisclosed substance.  Barnett has previously tested positive for anabolic steroids in 2002 while he was the UFC Heavyweight champion.

With the CSAC refusing to license Barnett, Vitor Belfort or Bobby Lashley may step up to fight Fedor on short notice.  Belfort is a Middleweight who is already scheduled to fight Jorge Santiago on the Affliction card.  Lashley last fought on the Ultimate Chaos fight where he defeated Bob Sapp.

The California State Athletic Commission will issue a formal statement on Wednesday, July 22.
