Kimbo Slice to Star in The Ultimate Fighter 10
According to Kevin Iole’s Yahoo.com article, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will be one of the fighters appearing on next season’s The Ultimate Fighter 10. Dana White has repeatedly stated that the only way Slice would appear in the UFC would be if he fought his way onto the UFC via The Ultimate Fighter. White has kept the Kimbo Slice signing quiet and will be officially announcing it on Tuesday, June 2.
Along with Kimbo, TUF 10 will feature Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson as the coaches of the two teams of heavyweights. Immediately after UFC 98, Dana White mentioned Rampage as the next in line to fight Lyoto Machida, but that plan has changed. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is now expected to challenge Machida in the fall. The hope is that the heat between Rashad and Rampage that occurred after Rampage defeated Keith Jardine will carry over to The Ultimate Fighter and, ultimately, pay-per-view buys.
TUF 10 was originally going to feature a Middleweight and a Heavyweight tournament. That has now changed and the UFC will instead feature a 16 man Heavyweight tournament. Two former NFL players, Rex Richards and Marcus Jones are also rumored to be on the next season of the UFC’s flagship TV show.
