Canadian Tim Hague signs with UFC
Cageplay has learned the King of the Cage Canadian champion Tim Hague has been signed to a UFC contract. Hague, who was rumoured to have signed with EliteXC prior to its demise, will fight Patrick Barry at UFC 98. The fight will be in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on May 23rd.
During our conversation, Hague informed me that he had signed “Five minutes ago.” Patrick Barry is 2-0 and is a pure striker. Barry will be a huge test for Hague who is one of Canada’s top Heavyweights.
Hague, a substitute teacher out of Edmonton, Alberta, last fought in October 2008 where he avenged the sole loss on his 9-1 record by defeating Miodrag Petkovic.
This fight will not go the distance with a striker like Barry and a fighter like Hague who has finished 80% of his opponents.
Congrats!
Go Canada go!
