Update – Horodecki Off of Affliction Card – Green In

A highly anticipated matchup between MMA young guns Chris Horodecki and Dan Lauzon at Affliction Day of Reckoning has been shelved.  Various internet sites are reporting that Horodecki did not pass his pre-fight medicals.  Shawn Tompkins, Horodecki’s trainer, commented to Sherdog.com that a bulging disc in his neck is preventing Horodecki from fighting.

Bobby Green has been announced as Horodecki’s replacement.  Dan Lauzon has agreed to the new opponent.  Green (7-1) is taken a step up to a bigger promotion.  Green last fought in July 2008 when he beat Toby Grear.  Green still needs to pass his California medicals prior to the fight becoming official.

Horodecki, who interviewed with Cageplay.com in regards to this bout, could not be reached for comment.

  1. Thankfully this was caught in the pre fight medicals and they can get it dealt with.

I’m sure nobody is more disappointed than Chris, but his health is more important than anything, and we wish him all the best.

It’s especially disappointing since the Affliction card late last year was postponed, so this is twice in a row Chris hasn’t had the chance to compete.

He’ll be back as soon as possible, and will return with a BANG.
