Kitaoka Satoru Wins Sengoku Lightweight Title

Satoru Kitaoka won Sengoku’s Lightweight championship with an Achilles Lock submission over Takanori Gomi.  Kitaoka continued his winning streak which saw him win the 2008 Sengoku Lightweight Grand Prix.  Kitaoka is a submission specialist who is always looking for a foot to lock a hold on and quickly end the fight.  Last night’s win was no different as Gomi was tapped out at 1:41 of the first round.

In Middleweight title action, 2008 Sengoku Middleweight Grand Prix champion Jorge Santiago fought a war with Kazuo Misaki.  Misaki, who TKO’d Joe Riggs in his last fight, took the fight into the fifth round and was winning the fight on my card 39-37 before being put to sleep with a Rear Naked Choke.

Also on the card, EliteXC veteran Antonio Silva ignored his California State Athletic Commission one year suspension and accepted a challenge from Yoshihiro Nakao.  Silva won the bout due to Nakao suffering a knee injury.

Another EliteXC alumnus Dave “Peewee” Herman suffered his first career loss when he was TKO’d by Mu Bae Choi in the second round.
