UFC 89 Results and Bonuses


UFC 89 live from Manchester completed last night.  After some good fights, some fighters like Mike Bisping and Luis Cane moved up the UFC Middleweight and Light-Heavyweight rankings, others solidified their perch near the top of the Light-Heavyweight rankings like Jardine, while fighters like Sokodjou and Vera may have dropped out of the top 10 completely.

As for bonuses, Luis Cane won Knockout of the Night for his KO of Rameau Sokodjou.  Chris Lytle and Paul Taylor put on an explosive Fight of the Night, while Jim Miller caught David Baron in a Rear Naked Choke for Submission of the Night.  All fighters receive $40,000 for their efforts.

Shane Carwin defeated Neil Wain by TKO in Round 1

Dan Hardy defeated Akihiro Gono by Split Decision

Marcus Davis submitted Paul Kelly by Guillotine Choke in Round 2

Chris Lytle outlasted Paul Taylor by Unanimous Decision

Luis Cane knocked out Rameau Sokodjou in Round 2

Keith Jardine edged Brandon Vera by Split Decision

Michael Bisping defeated Chris Leben by Unanimous Decision

  2. As mentioned in the article, the bonuses were $40,000 each to Cane, Lytle, Taylor, and Miller.
