Strikeforce “Payback:” Fighters Weigh In

Denver, CO. —Despite Tyra Parker’s failure to make weight, her Strikeforce “Payback” matchup with Michelle “Karate Hottie” Waterson will go on as planned. All other fighters scheduled to compete on the Strikeforce MMA card at Broomfield Event Center tomorrow successfully made weight at Dave and Buster’s in Westminster on Thursday.

Parker tipped the scales at 116 pounds, four pounds above the 112 pound limit, contracted weight of her bout. Waterson weighed in at 111.4 pounds.

Broomfield Event Center doors will open for Strikeforce “Payback” at 5:30 PM MST tomorrow and the preliminary card will begin at 6:30 PM MST. The main card will commence at 8 PM MST.

    Jeeze… It seems like as many people missed weight as made it. That can’t be a good thing.

  2. So if both people don’t make weight, and you have to give up 20% of your purse to your opponnent, it could benefit the guy making less, when he gets more from the opponents cut.

    IE you are making 5000 and opponent 50k, you’d make a kiling just by your opponent not making weight.

    So many missing is wierd. I’d say the scales were off, but same issue at TKO as well today, with people missing weight.
