Parisyan out of 88 Silva out of 89

Karo Parisyan was forced to withdraw from his UFC 88 bout with Yoshiyuki Yoshida hours before the weighins were set to take place with a last minute back injury.  He injured his back somewhere between Thursday evening and Friday morning and was having problems walking.  Matt Brown vs. Dong Hyun Kim will now be featured on the live pay per view card from it’s original prelim slot.

Also forced out of his next bout due to a back injury is Thiago Silva who was set to face Lyoto Machida at UFC 89 in England on September 21st.

  1. Mike says:

After hearing about Karo’s problem with panic attacks I find his withdrawal from tonight’s fight a little suspect. It’s disappointing as hell either way as Karo always brings 100% and is so fun to watch fight.

  2. If he has a back injury, then he should not fight.
If he is having anxiety disorder related panic attacks occurring, then he should not fight and I do NOT care if he is trying to save some face by calling it a back injury.

Either a real back injury or a mental illness is keeping him from fighting and I feel bad for the guy either way because and injury or illness is keeping him from doing what he loves the most – Fighting – and earning a paycheque.

  3. I think they are very related. He’s been having issues lately, and hopefully he gets everything dealt with.

I agree with Grienke, if he’s having either of these issues alone he shouldn’t be fighting, let alone both.

He’ll be back and stronger than ever I’m sure judoing guys on their heads!
