WEC 36 Postponed to November due to Hurricane Ike
WEC 36 scheduled for next Wednesday, September 10th has been postponed to November 5th due to the risks involved with Hurricane Ike potentially hitting Florida in the middle of next week.
The card was set to have Urijah Faber defend his title against Mike Brown. As well, Paulo Filho and Chael Sonnen were set to rematch their controversial match from last year when Filho won by submission stoppage when the referee stopped the match, but Sonnen claimed he did not tap or quit. Jens Pulver and Leonard Garcia were both set to meet at 145 with the two having previously competed at 155 in the UFC. The WEC has given these guys a home at their natural weight classes.
